By | Events

Are you free during the week days? We could use your help volunteering with our school kids who come out Tuesday through Friday! It will only take two hours of your time one day a week and is a rewarding way to get a little exercise. For more information contact us at volunteer.fetc@gmail.com

Tractor Supply Days

By | Events

Come and see us on the first Saturdays of each month at Tractor Supply!

WHY? FETC uses many products that Tractor supply sells for our horses and other therapeutic livestock.

On the first and third Saturday of each month TSC allows us to come inside the store and do a product fundraiser.

YOU CAN HELP!

Here’s how,  just come and see us at TSC ( of course get a hug from Higbee while you’re here) visit our table and pick up a “purchase card” for any of the products we have displayed. Take the card to the register when you check out. The clerk will charge you for that product and take the card to give us to shop with. Sometimes we have 10% discount coupons to give away to anyone who uses a purchase card and buys FETC a product. It’s win win! You win because it is a tax deductible in-kind donation to us and you are doing a wonderful thing to help the horses and other animals who help the kids, we win because it helps us reduce our cost and TSC wins because they sell their products.

You don’t have to wait for a purchase card day to help though. You can purchase the product and come visit us when you drop it off at the farm. It’s a great reason to stop by and see where your donation dollars go!

Hallie Myers – Program Director

By | Events

My name is Hallie Myers and I am thrilled to be on the team here at Faith Equestrian! I am originally from South Carolina and went to school in North Carolina. Even though I grew up in the South, I am definitely not in love with the bugs or the heat, but I still wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the country! I was introduced to horses at age six when my mom took me on a scavenger hunt around town that ultimately led to my first riding lesson. I have been riding for sixteen years and horses have always been a therapeutic part of my own life, something that I feel called to share with others. Reading the book, Hope Rising helped me discover that I wanted to use my love for horses to somehow help people. I found the Therapeutic Riding program at St. Andrews University shortly thereafter and from there it was history. I believe that God has led me here to Faith and I look forward to what He is going to do through me! Other than horses, I am a total book worm and am currently attempting to teach myself how to play the guitar. I also fell in love with the country and people of Namibia, Africa after spending an incredible summer there.

Certifications and training
I have degrees from St. Andrews University in Therapeutic Horsemanship and Equine Business. I also became certified there as a PATH registered level instructor.

Bonnie Rachael – Founder and CEO of Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center inc.

By | Events
My name is Veronica Rachael, but I go by my nickname of Bonnie. I have 40+ years experience in the field of training horses and instructing. I fell in love with horses at age 6, got my first horse when I was 17 yrs old. He taught me so much about horses and myself. I joined the Savannah Police Department in 1992 at age 36 to serve my community and became a mounted police officer in 1994, and retired from police work in 2006. I always felt in my heart I had a calling to help people but didn’t realize what until God presented it to me in church one day. As I was cleaning up after services I happen to see a magazine article sitting on a chair about a therapeutic riding center in South Carolina. Right then I could feel God touch my heart with excitement, “this is what I want you to do” I could hear him say in my heart, I listened and FETC was born. That was 2005 and now in 2013 Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center is a thriving center for children and adults with all types of physical and mental and emotional barriers. I didn’t do this alone, first and foremost this is God’s project, he has sent a dedicated group of volunteers over the years who have worked hard to make Faith grow – the rest of the story is still being written! I hope one day to step back and see it embraced totally by the community for the community with God’s continued blessing!
Certifications and training
Certified Mounted Police Instructor – Southern police institute- University of Louisville 10-00;  40 years experience in training horses and riding instruction; CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) level 4 English  and level 2 Western certified riding instructor. Registered PATH instructor; certified (EMHL) Equine Mental Health and learning specialist.
